I fear the future because we are silent about the past.
Every day I draw with my son, make paper crafts, and read funny poems and stories to him. The texts of children's books often carry hidden meanings from the cruel adult world. So the poem by Daniil Kharms tells about a man who left the house and disappeared without a trace. The work was published in 1937, when thousands of people disappeared without a trace in the dungeons and camps of the NKVD.
Yes, those are the old days. However, I fear the future because we are silent about the past. Too many pages are turned, faces are erased too hard, and destinies are forgotten too easily.
The work was shown at the exhibition Moscow Conceptualism, Communication in 2018 at Artplay, Moscow.
